Description

The fire flow switch or fire extinguishing system detector is an important part of the sprinkler lines. In its body, there is a paddle blade with a micro switch. When water flows in the fire sprinkler pipeline and its paddle blade is activated, an alarm signal is sent to the fire alarm system by the micro switch.The detector operates with the help of the force exerted by the fluid when moving.

The fire flow switch is a vital equipment in the fire extinguishing system that cuts off the electrical connection in the event of a fire and allows the fire extinguishing system to be activated automatically. This equipment acts as a bridge between the fire department and the electrical equipment of the building and is of great importance in preventing the spread of fire and protecting people and property.

It is recommended to use a fire flow switch as a basic safety device in any commercial or industrial building so that in the event of a fire, the fire extinguishing system is automatically activated and further damage is prevented.

These devices are placed in the path of the fluid flow in the pipe and use the pressure force resulting from the flow with other parts of the system to give the necessary command to change the necessary changes in the system mechanism.

Commands can include turning on or off a pump or air fan or turning on an alarm, opening and closing a solenoid valve, etc. There are different types of flow switches, the paddle type of which is suitable for general purposes of controlling the flow of liquids, especially water.

How to install a fire flow switch

The water flow indicator should be installed in a place that is not less than 5 times the diameter of the pipe along both sides. Note that the direction of the blade should match the direction of the water flow. The water flow indicator should be installed vertically with the pipe. If not installed vertically, check the flow to meet the requirement if it is not installed vertically on the pipe.

When the paddle blade is installed on the pipe, the plastic blade is rolled up and guided into the pipe housing. The wiring of the flow switch must be connected according to the wiring diagram. After installation, the water flow indicator must be checked and checked every six months.
